Judge Veretta Frazier presides over the 44th District Court, a civil court with jurisdiction in Dallas County. Before taking the bench, Judge Frazier was a seasoned litigator with broad experience in the areas of personal injury, education, franchises, commercial litigation, labor and employment, licensing agreements, real estate, and contracts. She has appeared before both state and federal courts.
Judge Frazier is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago and Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. She has served as an Associate at Jenkens & Gilchrist, Associate Counsel at FirstPlus Financial, Inc., Senior Counsel at Snelling and Snelling, Inc. and in private practice. She was also a Partner at West & Associates, L.L.P., in Dallas.
Judge Frazier has been an active member of the bar, including prior service as President of the J.L. Turner Legal Foundation, and service on a range of committees for the Dallas Bar Association and the Texas State Bar, including Woman in the Law and Civic Service. Judge Frazier is an active member of her church. She and her husband have six children and are longtime Dallas County residents. Before taking the bench, Judge Frazier frequently volunteered on Democratic judicial and legislative campaigns.
